Empowering Students to Lead with Purpose

FranU offers programs designed to cultivate servant leadership and professional growth. Franciscan Peer Leaders serve as mentors and guides, helping new students navigate campus life and promoting a welcoming community. Additionally, the Student Government Association (SGA) provides opportunities to develop leadership skills, advocate for students, and make an impact on campus policies and events. These programs empower you to grow as a leader while living out FranU’s Franciscan mission and values.

Franciscan Peer Leaders

The Franciscan Peer Leader program is a scholarship initiative designed to further FranU’s mission of forming and educating students as Franciscan servant leaders through integration of faith and leadership development. This premier program fosters authentic student connections across campus, promotes engagement, enhances the student experience and supports university recruitment efforts.

FPL Handbook

The FPL Handbook provides important information on the processes, policies, and expectations for Franciscan Peer Leaders. All invited students should review it carefully.

Student Government Association (SGA)

The Student Government Association gives students a voice on campus and opportunities to develop their leadership skills through advocacy, event planning and community engagement. SGA members work closely with peers and administrators to shape campus life, organize programs and represent the student body. Participation in SGA strengthens leadership, collaboration and problem-solving skills while fostering a sense of responsibility and service to the FranU community.

SGA Mission

The FranU Student Government Association is committed to fostering an inclusive and vibrant campus community through servant leadership, meaningful advocacy, and purposeful engagement. We strive to be a visible, approachable, and mission-driven presence that listens to student voices, acts with courage, and leads by example. We aim to create lasting change by promoting student involvement, building authentic relationships, and supporting initiatives that reflect the needs and aspirations of our diverse student body. Through collaboration, transparency, and a welcoming spirit, we work to leave a legacy of service, integrity, and community for future generations of FranU students.

Association of Student Governement Associations (ASGA)

FranU’s SGA is a proud member of ASGA, connecting our student leaders with best practices and resources from campuses nationwide. Students are elected to serve on SGA each spring by their peers, giving them the opportunity to directly impact campus life and represent the student voice throughout the university.
