FranU is more than just a place where we studied. It’s where we built our foundation as individuals and as a family.”

After earning her Bachelor of Science in Nursing, Anacker met her husband, Bryant, in early 2019 while he was a student in the Physical Therapist Assistant program. A couple of years later, she completed her Master of Science in Nursing – Family Nurse Practitioner in December 2021.

Meanwhile, Bryant received his associate degree as a Physical Therapist Assistant in May 2020, followed by a bachelor’s degree in biology in 2023. He is currently pursuing his doctorate in physical therapy.

Together, they plan to continue their education at FranU by enrolling in the Master of Healthcare Administration program.

Just four weeks before Bryant began the DPT program, the Anackers welcomed their son into the world. What followed was unexpected. Their son has faced several medical challenges that demand their full attention, and the couple has found a support system that helps keep them grounded.

“The professors in the DPT program have been incredibly understanding and supportive during this time. Their compassion and flexibility have allowed us to be fully present as parents while still ensuring Bryant remains on track academically.”

She continued, “It’s that level of care and community that has made FranU feel like a second home to us. The community has wrapped its arms around our family through each phase: academics, career building, parenting and personal growth.”

Throughout her journey, Anacker has remained passionate about her work as a primary care nurse practitioner with a focus on women’s health.

“It has been incredibly fulfilling to provide comprehensive care and empower women to take charge of their health and well-being.”

She credits the University for giving her the foundation to grow her career and remains closely connected with FranU as the President of the Alumni Association.

In this role, she is responsible for assisting current students, connecting alumni with the University and increasing engagement through events.

It's rewarding to see how the FranU community continues to support one another even after graduation.”

During her time as president, the association established a scholarship for current and returning students, successfully raising enough funds to endow it. Anacker named the scholarship in honor of one of her favorite people, Sister Martha Ann Abshire.

We are forever grateful for the friendships, opportunities and support we’ve received and look forward to giving back to this incredible University for years to come.”
