FranU Invites High School Students to Discover Their Calling Through The Franciscan Experience

May 7, 2026

FranU will host The Franciscan Experience (TFE), a six-day overnight summer theology institute for high school students, July 13–18 at the Tracy Center in the Diocese of Baton Rouge.

Rooted in the spirit of Saint Francis of Assisi, TFE invites rising high school sophomores through seniors into an immersive experience where faith, theology and service come together to help participants discern their vocation. Through a balance of spiritual and hands-on experiences, students are encouraged to reflect on who they are called to be while growing in relationship with Christ and one another.

Participants will engage in theological discussion, serve the local community and take part in daily Mass, prayer and small group mentorship. Building community is central to the experience, as students form meaningful friendships alongside faculty, staff and college mentors.

The program is designed for students who are curious about their faith, eager to serve others and seeking a deeper sense of purpose.

The cost to attend is $400. Applications are open through May 29 or until all available spaces are filled.
