The Spirit of Philanthropy
For over 90 years, Franciscan Missionaries of Our Lady University has been educating a healthcare workforce to bring healing to the people of Louisiana. We have a glorious history of service, graduating thousands of students who, as alumni, serve their communities as physicians, physician extenders, scientists, healthcare leaders and nurses. True to our Franciscan Catholic values, we have created an educational environment that imbues our students with humility, a sense of justice and a joyfulness of spirit. This results in the development of the kind of skilled and compassionate graduates you or I would want to provide healthcare to us and our loved ones.
Franciscan Missionaries of Our Lady University owes its many accomplishments to many generous benefactors who care about our community and our state. The advances are a tribute to the people that are filled with the philanthropic spirit that enhances the University: the Sisters who continue to contribute their diligence, knowledge and vision to build this institution; the not-for-profit organizations that step up with financial contributions for new facilities; the individuals who make scholarship gifts to enable worthy students to complete their educations.
As the University looks ahead to its 100th anniversary it is guided by Centennial Compass 2.0, a visionary strategic plan approved by the Board of Trustees. A major highlight is the planned transformation of the current campus from a concrete and brick venue to a manicured green campus that will feature buildings and facilities currently lacking, such as a student union. Modern, inspirational buildings, gardens and courtyards will replace all current buildings as Franciscan Missionaries of Our Lady University is transformed into a green, pedestrian-friendly campus.
